High pressure laminates are composed of multiple layers of kraft paper saturated in phenolic resin that are bonded together using high pressure presses. Thickness is determined by the number of kraft paper layers used. Prior to pressing, a layer of printed decorative paper is placed on the top of the kraft paper. During pressing, temperatures are close to 300° F (150° C) and pressures exceed the NEMA specification of 750 psi (5.17 PMa). To facilitate bonding, the laminate sheets are trimmed and sanded.
Keystone Laminates offers in high-pressure laminates in black, white, almond and gray colors in 4’ x 8’, 5’ x 10’ and 5’ x 12’ sheets. Although we specialize in commodity colors, we offer wood grains, patterns and other solid colors. Our commodity colors match domestic/major manufacturer’s colors.
You also have a choice of gloss or matte finishes. We stock both finishes in 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, 0.9 mm and 1.0 mm thicknesses. In addition, our laminate line includes cabinet liners and phenolic backers in various thicknesses.
